Students build their skills through nationally recognised units of competency focused on sport, aquatics, and recreation, developing practical capabilities in coaching, activity delivery, facility operations, and industry knowledge.
Year 1

Pathways
This qualification provides a pathway into roles within the sport, fitness, and recreation industry, including recreation assistant, sports coach (entry-level), activity leader, and leisure centre support roles across gyms, community centres, aquatic facilities, and sporting organisations.
Further education pathways include SIS40221 Certificate IV in Fitness, SIS30321 Certificate III in Fitness, and SIS40122 Certificate IV in Sport, Coaching and Community Development, leading to opportunities in personal training, coaching, and program coordination within the sport and recreation industry.

Assessment Methods
Assessment includes practical tasks, projects, observations, and written questions
Scored assessment is available for students undertaking the Units 3 and 4 sequence of the VCE VET Program.
