SHB20216 – Certificate II in Salon Assistant
This preparatory qualification provides the opportunity for students to develop a range of basic skills and knowledge used in hairdressing salons by individuals who assist with client services.
The program is very hands-on and provides exposure to employment pathways within a hairdressing salon.
Students enrolled in the SHB20216 – Certificate II in Salon Assistant have access to The Village Style, a fully functioning hair salon registered as a business with Brimbank Council. The salon is equipped to provide students with real work experience in a welcoming environment, featuring modern décor and serving paying customers from the community

VCAA mandates a minimum of 40 hours of SWL for students undertaking the Certificate II in Salon Assistant. Where the training package requires work periods/shifts, this can be used to satisfy the VCAA SWL placement requirements for the program.
